Corn flake bread - mchadi - comes from Imereti region of Georgia. Soil there was not good enough for sowing wheat so people who live there focused on corn. Mchadi is still more popular in western part of country.
Corn flower is very good for health - it helps to clean gastrointestinal, contains lots of vitamins and is gluten free.
How to make mchadi? Easy.
1. Take corn flour (we had around 1 kg) and mix it with water, till dough will be very soft.
2. Make small mchadis in an oval shape.
3. Fry them on very hot pan with fair amount of oil till they will have golden-brownish colour.
4. Set them to cool.
Have fun! :)
they are perfect with Sulguni cheese (the one which is getting gummy when hot), lobio (thick bean soup) and also smoked fish (we tried it yesterday :D)
